Blackened Salmon with Simple Pico


2 1/2 lb salmon filets

1 tbsp salted butter

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp garlic powder

Pico De Gallo

1 diced tomato

1 clove minced garlic

1 tbsp minced fresh cilantro

1/3 diced red onion

salt and pepper to taste


1. Pat dry salmon filets, season evenly and set aside.

2. Heat butter in a skillet over medium-high heat, add filets flesh side down and allow to cook 5-7 minutes or until cooked halfway through. Flip and allow to finish cooking. Salmon is done when opaque.

3. To prepare pico de gallo combine all ingredients and set aside

4. Plate salmon, top with 2 tbsp of prepared pico de gallo and serve
